Sherpa in the Making....

Eric and I were discussing what we'd like for dinner, (read too friggin hot to cook, who shall we call to do the cooking for us....pizza won cause I am so sure you care) the boy and the girl were playing in the yard...but despite the baby wandering around, the house was quiet. Eerily quiet. Far to quiet with a 13 month old terror crawling around. We both realized this, panic, and so the great baby search begins. Eric figured he'd slip through the baby gate and hightailed it upstairs, so he tore up the stairs in search.

Meanwhile, I stayed on the main floor as I thought I could still hear the baby, yet, strangely , I couldn't locate him. I go into the main living room and I am standing there. Listening. I hear a sound behind me. I figure its the boys pet rats in their cage. I turn around and find a little rat all right:

"Here ratty ratty ratty"

"Daddy, why are you so white?"

We've since rearranged the furniture.

Now if we can just get this child to put that much effort into actually walking....

Moving on.....Know how I know your Gay?

Anyone else see that movie, 40 year old virgin. Its friggin funny.

Anyways theres a scene where the two guys are playing a video game and they are going back and forth about "Know how I know your gay?" and coming up with stupid answers. Well this past weekend, Eric, started behaving in a strange way. I mean, he's your regular, baseball loving, beer drinking, tshirt and jean wearing, burger eating kinda guy. However, something was amis.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scene One:
I go out to the back deck, I look around...No Eric...hmmm...
Me: Eric?
Eric: I'm here, just sun tanning.
I look over and sure enough, there in all his fish belly white glory is my bald husband laying on the grass, shirt off, pants rolled up...
Me: Know how I know your gay??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scene Two:

We are sitting at the kitchen table after having dinner with my brother and the kids. Eric had opened a bottle of wine, XOXO that had come with some dark chocolate.

He takes one of the chocolates and eats it. The he drinks the wine. then looks at me and says" This dark chocolate does pair perfectly with this wine"

Me: Know how I know your gay?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scene Three:
We are in the kitchen, chatting and he starts telling me that he's found a way to get rid of the bags under his eyes.
Me: Know how I know your gay?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have much fun at my husbands expense.

Fugedaboutit

This pic makes me smile the kinda smile that could seriously harm my pretty little face. It warms the cockles of my soul. No, not because I am in any way a Yankees fan, or any type of baseball fan for that matter. Truth is, I can't stand baseball. ***THUD*** those were my husbands dreams of us touring every ball park in North America falling dead to the ground.
Nope. These little babies are my ticket to my absolute favorite place on earth. The city that never sleeps! The Big Apple. Yeah, I am taking about New York City. Can I get a whoot whoot!
Sorry, I get carried away when I jabber about this trip. You see, I am so excited I can barely stand myself. We are going on June 6th, which just happens to be our 9th wedding anniversary and we're staying right in the heart of the city. 9 blocks to Times Square! It doesn't get any better than that baby!!!

The best part? We are going kid free. Not even I am brave enough to travel with three children just yet. Grandparents will be staying at our house with the kids. Can I get a....enough Micki enough. What a glorious 4 days it will be. For us, not so sure about the Grandparents. ha!
So my fellow Bloggers, if any of you happen to be from there, have been there, or just have an unnatural love of New York like I, please share your favorite things to do and see while in New York. Your must visits. An I am not talking about visiting the Today Show. Please share either via comments or email. Help a girl out?

Bad Habits......

Well, sorry, I've been...um..busy..

As for the race this past weekend, we had a blast! This will be a yearly event, that I am sure of. And, I must say, we girls rocked our GI Jane theme! That's right camo pants, black shirts, combat boots and black caps! I'm going to say it, we looked good!

We stalked into the bar and there, in all their heavenly glory were four nuns. But wait, one of these nuns had a beard and the other one, strangely, looked, like my husband. Yes, folks, they boys were dressed in full nun like ensembles, including head piece and giant wooden cross around neck. This was gonna be a fun day!!

There were 12 teams in total and we were the only all girl team. Despite that we came in 5th place, only 90 points behind the winning team. It was a close finish for the top 5 teams. We played hard, ran hard and drove hard (L, you could seriously be a contender for NASCAR!!!) We were a force to be reckoned with. We were head to head with guys at each event...(we checked! )

However, the rock climbing wall is what did us in. Our team member who did it, made amazing time, however, her boyfriend, on our boys team, is a rock climbing expert, and scaled the bloody wall in 20 seconds. Inside Joke: "See it does pay to be small, ya little leprechaun!!"

Things I learned this past weekend:

  • we girls do camo well
  • S can pull together an outfit and rework her schedule with 12 hours notice...impressive
  • Combat boots are difficult to run in
  • L drives like no one else I know
  • Sa can take mega awesome pictures from a moving car..
  • Sz knows London EXTREMELY well
  • Ball caps and braids makes Micki look under 25 according to Casino Security....I'll take it...Sz...will you ever forgive me?? lol
  • People at casino's don't like to part with one single token, even when its an even trade
  • Sz...you don't want to piss her off...she's got a helluva punch.
  • Don't buy Swedish berries from Raj
  • I suck at deal or no deal
  • L is very very brave...much kudos goes to her...a side we never knew was there! I was so proud!LOLOL!
  • Its amazing what your team mates will MAKE you do...lol
  • Next year, white bra...
  • Oysters should be left at the supermarket
  • My van can fit 8 people..not well...but we can fit...good thing Sc is so small...HAHA!
  • E&C still has good food
  • I am far too tired, read "old" for the late night bar scene
  • I have 15 days to pay a parking ticket.
  • We have great friends!
And now the pics:

Gi Jane #1 and #2.

My husband does nun well! LMAO!

The goofy nun and his...er..her..um..his date..

The thoughtful nun....good thing it wasn't the "other" finger.

Yah, there's just something wrong with the whole beer drinking nun, no?lol.

The "Bad Habits" win, and get to wear the "lovely" coveted green coats. Um, er, maybe it was a good thing they won after all...I don't do green..or pompoms for that matter.

For the love of the game...WHATEVAH!

It's bloody cold out there. So very, very cold. Burrrrrrrr. Not fit for humans or animals outside today. Something like minus 22 or whatever. Way to Friggin Cold to move outside the door. It's flannels and extra socks today. Sexy, I know.

Where is my husband and his friends? OUTSIDE, playing football as they do every year before Superbowl, in the snow, ice and freezing cold. The WHOLE lot of them....and yes, I know a few of you read my site. Your bloody NUTS!! There is not enough long johns, hot pockets or battery operated...SOCKS people...in this world to get me outside, let alone play football in it.

In the meantime, I am home with three small children, one who is napping (FINALLY) and two others who keep requesting to watch the following video, and yes it's up there with the mini wheat video of yore. I could very well stick a fork in my eye before the day is through. If there was a bag of gummi's in the house, I'd be torturing them slowly, one itty bitty bear at a time. Especially the green ones.
Watch it!! I shall not suffer alone!!

Keep warm, and those of you are lucky enough to live in warm climates,...I hate you all.

Egg Noggity Nog Nog

My husband seems to have forgone all other beverages during this Holiday season, in favour of his old favorite, egg nog. The festive drink of the season. Meh.

Myself, I am not a huge fan. However, in the spirit of the Holidays, when I do groceries, I will pick up whatever nog is on sale. Egg nog is egg nog, right? You would think, but this is not the case at our house. It seems, every grocery store egg nog is "crap", "no flavour", "not creamy enough", blah blah blah. Yes folks, my husband has become an egg nog Snob. He will now only drink nog from Mac's Milk. A local convenience store here in town.

Besides costing more, I wondered what the difference was, so I compared labels of the infamous Mac's Milk nog to our grocery store nog. I nearly fainted when I read the fat content. The grocery store nog has 3 grams of fat PER cup. Not bad. The coveted nog from Mac's has 21 grams of fat PER cup. GWACK!!! PER CUP! 21 grams PER CUP! Can you say coronary in a glass. No friggin wonder he likes it so much better. The worse part, he so drinks much more than a "cup" each time. It is so very wrong for you. Wrong, wrong, wrong. My husband is officially horrified, yet saddened at the same time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Evil Doers aka: egg nog makers.
I would kindly suggest you seriously rethink that recipe. Pronto.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The funniest part: he was wondering why he gained a few pounds over the past couple weeks, and with no holiday baking done to blame it on. He really didn't think it would be THAT bad for you.

DOESN'T TASTE SO GOOD NOW DOES IT, ERIC? Muahahahahahahah!!

Guess its back to grocery store nog for the rest of the season.

That or slim fast.
