The Invasion

Well, my house, the dog, the rats, myself and even the kids survived the invasion of Girls this past Friday. The verdict is out on the bird.

There was little mess, despite 10 kids tromping through. The best thing, it was a very well behaved group of 10. Which is amazing in itself. They came, they played, the ate, they left.

Lets do it again soon!

This requires a post all its own.

Our Egg hunt event was a potluck. My good friend AM brought her coveted banana cake with cream cheese icing. She attempted to make a bunny banana cake. I use the term bunny cake loosely. HA!

Personally, I think it looks more like Stitch, ala Lilo & Stitch.

HAHA!!

Easter Egg Snow Hunt, a new tradition.

Mother Nature...let me down....again. She seems to have a habit of that EVERY time we plan an outdoor event. She's got it in for me.
I had visions of little girls bouncing around the yard in their frilly easter dresses, carrying pastel coloured baskets, collecting eggs with little boys in their Easter best, tyring to out do the girls. Come on, anything for a great photo op!!! Instead, Mother Nature dropped the temperatures and threw some snow at us for good measure. She hates me.

Blasted Mother Nature. Maybe next year, she'll hear my pleas.

Bad Habits......

Well, sorry, I've been...um..busy..

As for the race this past weekend, we had a blast! This will be a yearly event, that I am sure of. And, I must say, we girls rocked our GI Jane theme! That's right camo pants, black shirts, combat boots and black caps! I'm going to say it, we looked good!

We stalked into the bar and there, in all their heavenly glory were four nuns. But wait, one of these nuns had a beard and the other one, strangely, looked, like my husband. Yes, folks, they boys were dressed in full nun like ensembles, including head piece and giant wooden cross around neck. This was gonna be a fun day!!

There were 12 teams in total and we were the only all girl team. Despite that we came in 5th place, only 90 points behind the winning team. It was a close finish for the top 5 teams. We played hard, ran hard and drove hard (L, you could seriously be a contender for NASCAR!!!) We were a force to be reckoned with. We were head to head with guys at each event...(we checked! )

However, the rock climbing wall is what did us in. Our team member who did it, made amazing time, however, her boyfriend, on our boys team, is a rock climbing expert, and scaled the bloody wall in 20 seconds. Inside Joke: "See it does pay to be small, ya little leprechaun!!"

Things I learned this past weekend:

  • we girls do camo well
  • S can pull together an outfit and rework her schedule with 12 hours notice...impressive
  • Combat boots are difficult to run in
  • L drives like no one else I know
  • Sa can take mega awesome pictures from a moving car..
  • Sz knows London EXTREMELY well
  • Ball caps and braids makes Micki look under 25 according to Casino Security....I'll take it...Sz...will you ever forgive me?? lol
  • People at casino's don't like to part with one single token, even when its an even trade
  • Sz...you don't want to piss her off...she's got a helluva punch.
  • Don't buy Swedish berries from Raj
  • I suck at deal or no deal
  • L is very very brave...much kudos goes to her...a side we never knew was there! I was so proud!LOLOL!
  • Its amazing what your team mates will MAKE you do...lol
  • Next year, white bra...
  • Oysters should be left at the supermarket
  • My van can fit 8 people..not well...but we can fit...good thing Sc is so small...HAHA!
  • E&C still has good food
  • I am far too tired, read "old" for the late night bar scene
  • I have 15 days to pay a parking ticket.
  • We have great friends!
And now the pics:

My husband does nun well! LMAO!

The goofy nun and his...er..her..um..his date..

The thoughtful nun....good thing it wasn't the "other" finger.

Yah, there's just something wrong with the whole beer drinking nun, no?lol.

The "Bad Habits" win, and get to wear the "lovely" coveted green coats. Um, er, maybe it was a good thing they won after all...I don't do green..or pompoms for that matter.

Road Kill

More snow. I thought the stupid little gopher said early spring? He's fired.

I was really hoping for a "warmish" weekend this weekend. We have a fun event planned for this weekend. We are entering an "Amazing Race" style charity event, called a Poker run. There are eight of us signing up, two teams of four, boys against the girls. I am not sure how many teams there will be in total, I imagine many.

Basically, you are given clues and have to figure out locations in the city and perform tasks at each one to get the next clue to your next location. A pub in London is hosting this event for the Alzheimer's society.

I mean come on!! Girls are SOOOOOO much better at figuring out where to go. We are soooooooooo gonna kick the boys ass. In typical OVERINFLATED ego style, the boys have already started their trash tasking. Whatevah!! Put your pants up Shorty!!! You know who YOU are.

Each team is to come up with a theme and as the boys have not revealed theirs, I shall refrain from revealing ours. But I will be back, and I will post as many embarrassing pics of the boys as I can manage to take. Of course, I will post only pretty pics of the girls doing their victory dance.

Cars, egos, alcohol, charity, good friends, cameras, and silly costumes...what could be more fun???

For the love of the game...WHATEVAH!

It's bloody cold out there. So very, very cold. Burrrrrrrr. Not fit for humans or animals outside today. Something like minus 22 or whatever. Way to Friggin Cold to move outside the door. It's flannels and extra socks today. Sexy, I know.

Where is my husband and his friends? OUTSIDE, playing football as they do every year before Superbowl, in the snow, ice and freezing cold. The WHOLE lot of them....and yes, I know a few of you read my site. Your bloody NUTS!! There is not enough long johns, hot pockets or battery operated...SOCKS people...in this world to get me outside, let alone play football in it.

In the meantime, I am home with three small children, one who is napping (FINALLY) and two others who keep requesting to watch the following video, and yes it's up there with the mini wheat video of yore. I could very well stick a fork in my eye before the day is through. If there was a bag of gummi's in the house, I'd be torturing them slowly, one itty bitty bear at a time. Especially the green ones.
Watch it!! I shall not suffer alone!!

Keep warm, and those of you are lucky enough to live in warm climates,...I hate you all.

Karewhaty???

We had a busy weekend. Your shocked, I know.

We went to visit family and friends in London, an hour's drive from here.
Saturday, was spent hanging out at my mom's and then at a buck and duck or stage and doe or whatever the f%$# ....frig people, I was gonna say frig, shame on you.

It was lots of fun, DESPITE the kereoke. How the hell is that word spelled? I am just not a big fan of the karokee. I think if you operate a DJ/Kareoke business, it must be imperative that you can actually sing. PLEASE DO NOT attempt to sing Kid Rock when you sound like mickey friggin mouse on crack. For that reason alone, you should lose your license to Koraoke. KID ROCK?? What were you thinking old man??

Now there are a couple of my friends who can actually sing and do well at karoke. Then there those who do, but shouldn't. Really really shouldn't. Like Mcmouse the dj. I am one of those. I know I can't so I won't. There should be more like me.

Which brings me to American Idol starts tomorrow. The first part is freakin hilarious with all those who do but shouldn't singers. The rest, we'll see. Sometimes I watch, sometimes I don't. It's no ROCKSTAR, that's for sure.

karaoke??

Ghosts, Witches, and....... Dilana?? OH MY!

The pumpkins were carved, the decorations were hung, the costumes were completed, and the food...well...I spent so much friggin time getting my hair just right, I was still making crap when the guests started to arrive. Hey, I had to put THREE colours in it. Nothing permanent, but now I think I am going to get my hair done in black and blonde. Fun!

After a two year hiatus, our infamous Halloween Bash returned, but it was more of a small gathering this time round. Which was a nice change from the 45 - 50 people we had attend the last time it was held. We were in a small condo then, it was, shall I say, cozy. This year we have the big house, but we've all since become Parents, and with that the whole going out when you want thing goes out the window. Many of the original attendees could not attend and were missed, but those who did come, we had a hell of a lot of fun. For those of you who could not attend, there's always next year.

There was B with her martini on the go, S with her whiskey in a flask, Sz with her apparent LOVE of my roasted pumkin seeds (you missed a whole big bowl in the basement). My pumpkin seeds are coveted around here.

We had a few new faces who turned out to be so much fun. There was a witch who tried her damnest to be sexy, "that was my sexy look", a cleavage war (I so won), tons of food and laughs and conversations which again, I can not share here. I wore a corset(tks to Sh corset collection!), I could barely sit, but I looked good. Isn't that what its all about. My husband was Larry the cable guy, a real stretch for him, we had a ghost, a super fat ballerina, an 80's chick, a 50's chick, a renaissance lady, a witch and myself, Dilana do ya wanna. The rest came as themselves. I let them off easy this year. I must be mellowing. I have two huge totes filled with cosutmes, and normally I get to dress those who dare enter my house sans costume. Next year.
Consider yourself warned.

Now,
The Photos

Lovint the 80's makeup. Who knew they still made pink frosted lipstick.

"THE" Post Weekend Post

This past weekend was planned a couple of months ago. It was a weekend that has been in the making for the past twelve years. I left Sudbury after College, but my best friend remained behind. We stayed in contact and I've been to Sudbury twice since to see her. However, due to life being life, we hadn't seen each other in 8 years, since our weddings. We were long overdue.

With that ,this past weekend was a mixture of hugs, laughs, walks down memory lane, sickness, drinking, embarrassing photos, didn't I mention the laughs? Truly an kick ass girls weekend. The girls are anxiously awaiting this post I am sure. With baited breath. Really.

Things I learned from this past weekend.

  • People from Sudbury may be part reptile and can not feel the cold.
  • Gay waiter's are a lot of fun. STELLA!!!
  • Liqour Stores in Toronto are busier than anywhere else.
  • P spills more drinks than I.
  • P falls off beds.
  • Sirens run aprox. every 5 minutes when your trying to sleep.
  • P's crazy curly hair can be straighented.
  • Coke mixed with coffee IS NOT a good thing. Even if it was free.
  • My purse smells like beer and coffee and coke all at once. Interesting.
  • The Eaton Center sucks for shopping.
  • Hotel beds are very very comfortable.
  • Hot steamy baths makes a girl feel better.
  • I can't remember shit.
  • Its good P and I were friends...she holds all my memories.
  • B brings good shit. Chocolate martini's and sushi...how cool is she?
  • Everyone likes spinach dip.
  • P and B are linked comiscally thru music.
  • P can dance.
  • I can walk in stilletto's, well. No matter how sick I get.
  • S can pick up famous people....Right Said Fred? No? What????
  • S is broken hearted that I like Clam Chowder better than Signal Hill.
  • Gracies is an awesome pub.
  • No matter what weekend we stay in Toronto, there will always be a marathon preventing us from leaving on Sunday.
  • I have awesome friends.
  • Time and distance does not change friendships, only makes them better.

P it was loads of fun, despite me being ill. I agree we should make it a yearly thing. The girls and I are even willing to brave the cold cold temperatures and head north to you! ha!

There are even more embarrassing photos below. And yet more on my laptop....hehehe....

Cheers!!

Drink, Drinker, Drunk...

"Smooooch"
